Do You Know How Amazing You Are?

Pisgah Forest Pine tree roots, North Carolina ~ by Satya

I have a question: Do you know how amazing you are? But truly…

Your curves and your dimples, your ripples and wrinkles. How you can visualize a change and then bring it to life. How you feel with your whole heart and go all the way in. The deep care that you have for the pain of others. And for the brokenness of a society that just can't get its act together.

And what of the helplessness you feel in the face of that chasm—that gap between what is broken and what it’s going to take for it to mend? Do you know how precious that is?

Because it’s only what we feel that we can heal. And if we want to make a real difference we must go back to the basics: starting with ourselves, as the sages have said for ages. Mending the abyss of pain and separation within our own bodies, our hearts and our minds. (And yes, for ourselves and those we love, but not at the expense of those other real needs that demand our attention too.)

As we use our words and creativity to express what's inside us, we find layers for healing the wounding that plagues us. Our healing is what makes it possible to help others heal themselves, onwards and through 'til the world is healed too.

It’s the only way forward that’s truly sustainable. But it’s not the only way. Our creative expression can do more than just healing.

We can use our voices to take action and fight for practical change too. We can help others through their pain and grief by being there for them, providing financial support, emotional support, and other tangible forms of help that show our love in immediate ways.

Whatever you do, please don’t stop using your words and self-expression to alchemize the pain inside you, to turn it into something better. Something golden. Something imbued with the great love that you are.

But seek to match your love with your passion, because words and intentions are pointless without action.

You're amazing and ready, perfect just where you are. You make a difference by seeking your light through darkness and sharing it with the world. By sitting with all that you feel and letting it move through you, not shoving it down or pretending it's not there. Taking action that calls you, being a beacon of love. Spreading hope through the light and the smiles that you share, the hearts that you touch and the people you help. Because that's who you are.

Please don’t hold back 'cause it's not about you,

It’s about all of us, Earth, and the animals too.

Let's each do our part and share our gifts freely,

To become the change we've envisioned so clearly.

The change that we humans so desperately need,

Won't blossom by letting our gardens go to weed...

((Next time you feel washed away or uprooted by your emotions, I want you to remember this image of a tree I capture from the Pisgah Forest near me. This is an average-sized pine tree near the river where the soil eroded to reveal its roots. Can you see how marvelously developed and powerful its root system is? That's the kind of rooting down we all need to stay grounded and anchored in the love that we are, in these times.))

Love you,

wild soul~
