Reflecting On A Month of Life and Work in South America (The 'Space-Bubbles of Light' post)

Space-Bubbles - Cajamarca RoadAs I write these words I'm sitting on a bus headed out of Chiclayo, Peru. I joke that it's the greatest city you've never heard of, but there is something remarkable about this little pocket of the world, humming as it is with the lives of a million people. I came here in search of something I've been seeking out since arriving in Peru one month ago: A sense of being where I am meant to be, and feeling truly alive -- a place where I can thrive in doing my life's work, and create a sense of peace and centeredness in the midst of a crazy busy life.

Happily, surprisingly even, I found glimpses of that in this town, and 10,000 feet up in the beautiful Andes mountains of Cajamarca, but the truth is no place can create that peace in itself. A place might help facilitate that experience, but it's up to me to make it happen --  or rather allow it to happen.

In the past five weeks I've stayed at a dozen different hotels and guesthouses -- I'm becoming an expert at sniffing out the good living spots -- but all the time and energy required to cover the basic necessities of life can be exhausting. Finding the right place to stay, figuring out where to get the good food and coffee and wi-fi, how to make your way around a strange kitchen, and where to go next… as much as I enjoy a sense of the unknown at every turn, there are times when I just wish everything would be just a little more simple and stress free. So, the thing I'm focused on now is cultivating a strong sense of peace and calm groundedness from which to flow in my work, no matter the circumstances I find myself in.

This is what I'm focused on right now, and I think it's the key that so many of us are searching for: A calm and quiet little cave in the eye of the storm. A place in ourselves where we can really thrive and flow in doing our great work, and have a sense of being sheltered from the storm, while still kicking butt.

So, how to actually create these spaces? No one's going to do it for you, so might as well get to it already!

I don't think there's a single magic formula for creating mission control cave-bubbles of light and calm to maneuver through the craziness -- use your imagination basically -- but I know you can create one with your intention, and strengthen that over time. You can set up a conscious boundary, an inner circle where you decide and declare what's allowed in, and make that be holy ground your sacred space of renewal and refresh. And I'm damn-well motivated to find the magic formula to share with you if there is one!

Does this sound crazy? Maybe a little... I've been working on it for a few years, though, and I'm making it official here:

Mission control space-bubbles of light and love to maneuver through the storm.

(…zoom! Kinda' makes me think of a little inter-dimensional space ship...)

All joking aside, though, I'm really feeling this -- this helping you create and maintain conscious boundaries, clear energy, and holy inner sanctuaries you can rest and retreat in, while still rockin' it in the real world. (No matter what situation you're in, who, what, where you're dealing with.)

You can do it, and I'm right here with you to support you on that mission. Want some feedback or help on this journey? Maybe I make a post on my private Facebook page where you can add your thoughts or questions on this. I prefer to do this in semi-private, just add me up on the Facebook if we're not already connected.

Thanks for keeping me close in your thoughts and good wishes as I attempt to forge a solid path of love and light to travel in the world.

Next stop: Cuenca, Equador.

Love and light, Satya
