In this video, I ask ten out of the twelve amazing people in the Freedom Business Summit to share their message to the world, and specifically to people who are ready to go big with their passion. Here’s what happened…
(I’ve been really so moved by these interviews and interactions. I hope you enjoy this…!)
You may have read my top 10 online leaders changing the world with heart post — just realized as I was writing this that six out of ten of them are actually in the summit… (not a coincidence, but I feel REALLY blessed — never imagined this when I was writing that post…)
Of course, it’s one thing to have a message to the world, and another thing to get it out there…
I’d say my message right now, is: You don’t have to believe what you see and think to be true. You can choose your reality, every day, and every moment; the great thing is when you catch that screaming banshee and let it take you, you never know where in heaven you’ll end up…!
What have you found in your life that really works when it comes to having more of those moments of feeling really good, and lining up with having what you really want, at any given moment…?
Please share it in the comments, and let me know, I’d really love to hear it. Thanks and love! :)
Video featuring Danielle LaPorte, Charlie Gilkey, Johnny B. Truant, Gwen Bell, Everett Bogue, Tammy Strobel, Karol Gajda, Mark Silver, Leo Babauta, Corbett Barr (in order of appearance). Summit also features Chris Guillebeau and Mary Jaksch.

Freedom Business Summit 2010: 12 Remarkable online leaders on building a life of freedom doing what you love.

What works for me? Human connection is what gives me the most fulfillment. I’m sort of shy and not always confident, but when I share from my heart and it helps someone, whoever that might be, a reader, my daughter, a friend, a stranger, I feel blessed to have been given that opportunity and in that moment I know I am on the right path.
Yes! Thank you for sharing here Katie — I’ve found the same to be true in my life. It all goes back to this human web of connection. It’s quite miraculous…
Love
I have to agree on the human connection theme. The moments when I am happiest and most fulfilled are the moments when I’m doing awesome things with the people I love the most in this world. It’s simple, but one of my favorite things to do in the world is eat a meal with friends and/or family. Other things include going for a long run with a good friend, playing a competitive rugby match with my team, and having great conversations with smart people. The common thread in there is obviously the connection to others. How many times have we all done, eaten, or seen something so cool while we were alone? Sure, it’s cool, but not nearly as cool as it would have been if you shared that experience with your close friends, right?
So true… i have to say after reading your comment, I’m missing my family a bit! Sometimes, it’s so easy to get caught up in the mission and the goal, we forget the most important things… good friends, family, and enjoying life!
What a great question. Mine would be watching my young players develop into talented hockey players, walking or running with my wife, reading a great book, and new to this list is watching my blog grow. (slowly but still growing). Finally it would have to be what Katie said above, human connection.
I love taking long walks through the forest nearby… always fills me with calm and strength…! :)
Totally agree about the forest Satya! That is my true happy place. There is something so magical about trees. They remind me to stay grounded and present. I lived for a time far away from a forest… never again!
ahhhh yes … missing it now…!
- looking forward to the time when i can rest again with little care, and lots of time… :)
For me, that moment when I feel really good and everything lines up is when I’ve done something, whether big or small, that’s helped someone else. When I’ve gotten the updated status report to the boss when a manager didn’t have it ready, shown a co-worker how to do something new in Office, offered good advice to my son (lol, ok when he actually TAKES my advice), or simply listening and offering compassion to someone in need. That feeling of being needed, helpful, appreciated, good at what I do…those are the moments when I feel the best. Being insanely helpful :)
Thank you for sharing Deb — I can testify to you being damn good at what you do — and insanely helpful! Love to make a difference too, that’s what motivates me also! :)
What great leaders! I love that advice- especially “surrounding yourself with the right people…” The summit certainly seems to be one of these times where the right people would be there.
yes indeed my friend! :)
I find joy in a finely crafted phrase. Sometimes, when rereading something I have written long ago, I will run across a sentence, or part of a sentence, which is really well written. It is usually followed by a smattering of poor grammar, hideous punctuation, and abundance of commas, but I ignore those blunders. Instead I focus on the little bit which makes me happy.
these are the small joys that make life worth while… the gems of simple wisdom in your observations, also make me very happy Brian :)
Having a positive outlook in life as well as stepping out of our comfort zones does wonders in my life. We can have everything we want in life so long as we act upon it with the best of our abilities, success is really this simple. :-)
Hey Satya,
that’s a kick-ass intro – and you feature some of my favorite mavericks – Ev Bogue, Danielle and Corbett.
I luv Johnny’s take – try different stuff and see what works and what doesn’t. Too many people give up just because it doesn’t seem to work, when in fact they could KILL be keeping going.
Nice nice work, and a kick-ass idea !
