Shooting stardust at the moon : time and space died yesterday : prepare for takeoff

Lift up your heads! Erect on the summit of the world, once again we hurl defiance to the stars!….Why should we look back, when what we want is to break down the mysterious doors of the Impossible? Time and Space died yesterday. We already live in the absolute, because we have created eternal, omnipresent speed! ~ The Futurist Manifesto, circa 1909

butterfly nebula

Butterfly Nebula NGC 6302, 3,800 light years away in the constellation of Scorpius, Milky Way Galaxy. Photoshop? Nope, it's a glowing gas being stretching out over two light years, or about 1/2 the distance from the Sun to the nearest star, Alpha Centauri. Badass. NASA Hubble Telescope.

There’s a quiet revolution happening right now that’s about to explode in epically mind-melting proportions. You might have already caught the echoes reverberating back from the future.

The first naked truth about all this I’ve come to realize: It’s not that time speeds up as you get older, it’s that time is speeding up exponentially with the expansion of the universe.

The future of humanity is in your hands. Will you drop the ball or join the battle?

end of civilizationThis is a hard piece for me to write today. Hard because it’s so vital. So essential to my existence and the continued existence of our civilization.

I’m pushing through the resistance, with the help of my higher self – and a few shots of premium handmade vodka – because this is my call. This is my call to arms on this night as I prepare for the most epic battle I’ve ever committed to joining and leading.

What’s at stake

What is at stake is no less than the entire future of our “civilization.” Not to be alarmist, but in a matter of time, all the comforts you’ve grown to count on, to rely on, and to love may no longer be available to you, or your children.

You who are reading this now, you’re the one on which this all stands. Not some other person, or some “more capable leader.” In fact, the entire future of humanity rests on your shoulders…

Those who ignore this, ignore it at their own peril, and the peril of the rest of us. It’s in your hands.

The Future of Civilization.

Over the past 200 years we’ve witnessed the exponential growth of our human population, and the demands of this population far outstripping the earth’s capacity and available resources. We’ve seen the mega-corporations grow into monoliths equal in power to the greatest nations, and devouring everything in their wake in the relentless imperative to profit. We’ve witnessed the so-called leaders of our great nations declare war on their own people, extinguish entire communities of their neighboring countries, intervene in the name of democracy and freedom, but with the thinly veiled imperative of an endless thirst for more power, more wealth and more of the earth’s great resources.

As the planet’s oil and clean water supplies dwindle, along with our ability to breathe clean air and source un-polluted food the scale and intensity of international conflicts will only increase. We’ve seen small terrorist groups bring entire nations to their knees, and we have witnessed first hand the destructive effects of an unseen enemy that cannot be extinguished on our own soil. This is the world we live in, and where we’re headed, but there’s something you need to understand first…

The greatest enemy of all is not headquartered in remote middle-east barracks or Al-Qaeda training camps.

The greatest enemy, the darkest force of evil imaginable, the most devastating potential destructor of humankind is right in our own backyards. Right in your neighborhood, your apartment building, and the company you work for.

It’s called willful complacency.

Pure and simple. It’s complacent ignorance driven by self-preservation and greed, and it inflicts the overwhelming majority of Americans and residents of all the rich countries.

The truth is, the vast majority of us are really content to have things more or less as they are, give up their freedom for “stability” of whatever job and accumulate wealth in order to consume more and buy their happiness. Meanwhile, on the receiving end the forests are stripped, the children are sold into slavery, the waters, air and soil are polluted, and the people are poisoned.

And it’s because your neighbor, or your hubby or if you’re an average American YOU — you’re so focused on preserving your way of life, climbing your way up, or just having the things you think will make you happy, you’ll do anything to get a job with any company that will pay you enough to buy the stuff you crave, super size your “super value meal” and earn the freedom to numb your brain with 4 hours of TV every day.

“Civilization” is broken.

Our mental operating systems are completely screwed, buggy, dysfunctional. It’s completely broken. We’re working on a survivalist framework inherited from our ancestors, and we’re unwittingly destroying our planet. We aren’t monkeys. It’s not survival of the fittest any more. It’s survival of the planet and civilization as we know it.

Even the majority of supposedly progressive bloggers and transformational leaders out there are operating on a completely broken model, selfishly driven by greed and using their understanding of human weakness and psychology to manipulate you into buying their courses, and participating in their lame “communities.”

The culprits are everywhere. They’re the “gatekeepers” and the people upholding the status quo, the unwitting targets of apparently harmless Facebook advertising campaigns and propaganda dreamed up by the marketing minds behind the world’s biggest brands, and their competitors. They’re your friends, relatives, and loved ones, who guile you into believing you need all sorts of crap, and to have a “good job.” Lastly the gatekeepers are in your own mind, telling you that you can’t live your dream, or listen to your heart; that life requires sacrifices, and sometimes that sacrifice is your own happiness and well-being.

One word: bullsh*t.

This is a wake up call

This is a call for you to wake up to the truth of who you are, and understand the imperative of the gifts you have. It’s not about satisfying yourself, or getting what you want, it’s about healing the world with your art. Your art. Not your complacent, half-assed, lukewarm, pretty OK with life as it is even though it could be better self.

It’s a moral imperative: you are, in fact, a healer. Your art awakened with love and passion, your writing, music, research, work, your thoughts, your heart expressed in action — is the greatest force of healing, awakening, energizing life-changing, society transforming power in existence.

You. Awakened, Alive, Fully energized in the passion and the power and the heart of your love expressed in action. Expressed in your being, Through your hands, your mind, your being. This is the great transformation. This, is the revolution. This is what will save humanity.

As we awaken and embrace the truth of our existence, the depth of our perception, the grace and the majesty of our liberation, we begin to truly walk in beauty, and the wake we leave behind us is not ignorance, complacence, consumption and the dark suffocating force of extinction consuming our humanity in this very moment. It’s the redeeming, healing, empowering, enlightening and illuminating force of true potentiality unleashed into the greatest force known to humankind: Pure love in action.

Will you heed the call?

Next steps: (stuff you can do now)

1. Wake the F*** up. For most people that means get out of the haze of insecurity, confusion and the various struggles, hardships and conflicts you’re engaged in. Getting out doesn’t mean they still aren’t there, or that you’re continually drugging yourself out of awareness through TV, fast food, prescription drugs and other intoxicants to avoid facing them. It means that you’ve seen the ray of light through the haze, and now you’re committed to pulling yourself out. Start by doing this exercise from my last article, if you haven’t already: How to calibrate your energy to the luminous frequency of light

2. Get rid of the crap you don’t need in your life on the physical, mental, emotional and energetic levels. If you’ve already started this, great. Time to go deeper. Clear your energy obstacles by doing shamanic healing and energy clearing. David Elliott’s guided breathwork meditations will help you do this: download his entire Healing book for free here, and subscribe to his email list for a free guided healing meditation and connect directly to the source from one of the great living healers on this planet.

3. Commit to living your truth and step up to the plate. The greatest gift you can give to humanity and yourself is to use your gifts and the expression of your true self on this earth now by making the commitment to live in your power and share your highest truth in whatever form it’s calling for you to take. Sign up to my Epic Flow Series for creative inspiration and a kick in the pants for manifesting your dreams and inspirations.

4. Solidify your independence by increasing your passion-based income. Move into true independence by creating an income stream out of your heart’s greatest passion, so that your survival doesn’t hinge on the destruction of the planet or the whims of a board made up of complacent “institutionalists.” Listen to the slate of free interviews I conducted with some of the great living luminaries who are transforming society through living their passion at the Freedom Business Summit. You can also get the first steps to learn how to create a life, website and business online from your passion thru my free 5 steps to freedom program I created last year.

5. Turn your life into a fierce expression of the divine and never look back. If that means leaving everything you know and love behind to assume a new identity and recreate who you are in the world/online, what’s stopping you? The greatest first step you can take to accelerate your personal evolution is clear your energy and open into Flow. That’s what I created the Flow guidebook for.

The greatest gift we have is the vast expanse of this precious, short and limited lifetime. Don’t let it go to waste, for in doing so you’re neglecting the great imperative we have to turn around the tides and save this great and fragile humanity from extinction. In our lives. In your life. Now.

Vaya con dios.

How one small idea can and does change the world: The Girl Effect

A short intro:

Tara Sophia tweets about her project to get 100 bloggers involved in writing about The Girl Effect — a new initiative to help fund education and entrepreneurial efforts by girls in developing countries. If you watch this video, you’ll get it. A brilliant idea, and a growing movement:

The premise is simple and brilliant. The movement is powerful. The problem is epic, as Sunitha Krishnan explains in this engaging and important video on child sex slavery:

What I love about this, is it just demonstrates the power of a single idea, coupled with the initiative to take action around it. (A lot like what Tammy Strobel talks about in our interview for the Freedom Business Summit Small Steps to Making a Big Impact and Changing the World.)

I re-tweeted Tara’s post, and then she took the step to say — “hey, we’re waiting for your post too” — so I did. That was the little extra step it took for me to jump in, and Tara was willing to take the initiative to make that. There can not be enough support given to the children in developing countries, who die at the rate of 30,000 a day, mostly from starvation-related disease. Especially the girls, who suffer the most.

When you get to that point where you’re really at the brink, don’t back down – that’s the tipping point. If you really want to make a difference it takes extraordinary persistence, and the willingness to push past the final inertia to make it happen. That’s the hardest bit.

Are you willing to take that one extra ounce of effort when you’ve gone past your limits, and you don’t think you can handle any more? Make sure what your spending the majority of your time and effort on is really worth fighting for. Then you can’t fail. No matter what.

Life-changing conversations on going big, and catching the muse

“Spend time every day listening to what your muse is trying to tell you.” ~Saint Bartholomew, 1st century AD

catching the wind

I had the opportunity to speak with Leo Babauta yesterday for the first time (for the freedom business summit).

By the end of our call, my heart had melted, and a whole swell of tears came through as I hung up the phone. I’m not a sentimental guy generally speaking — I can be pretty tough-shelled — but it was hard for me to say goodbye…!

This is it — this is what it’s about, I thought, so much love and Truth…

It was overwhelmingly real…for a change.

When your entire outlook changes in an instant, it’s a pretty good indicator of something big. It’s been happening to me quite a bit, lately, so I’m going to share a couple reasons why you might consider seeking out deeper conversations with people you respect and admire.

That call with Leo wasn’t the first time I’ve been so deeply moved with some of the remarkable people involved in this event (there’s been a few incidents). I guess that comes with the territory of speaking about what I truly love, with some of the most remarkable people I’ve ever met…

Like Gwen Bell.

Speaking with Gwen was like having the holes in my head fused shut with a welding gun of hot compassion. It was like she saw right through me and branded my heart with the mark of compassionate self-reflection. It was the kind of reflection that makes you say to yourself “S*** – why am I doing this again…? Oh, that’s right, well I guess I don’t have to keep wasting my time with all this other extraneous crap, just ’cause Chris Brogan says that’s the way it should be done…” — (full respect to Chris, but yeah, that feels pretty good…). How to Make Your Mark in History

We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us. — Joseph Campbell

I’ve been doing a lot of ruminating lately on who I am, what I do, and what impact I’m really making on the world.

Part of that just comes naturally from who I am, and a big part of it is from the work I’m doing right now, which is interviewing a lot of really amazing people I love for an upcoming event I’m putting together (…about creating a life of freedom through your passion).

One thing about these people, though: each one of them is remarkable enough to pretty much guarantee they will not be forgotten.

The other thing about them? They’re all living their lives on their own terms. But there’s more to it than just that.

The link between living your freedom and leaving a legacy

For me, the definition of true freedom is pretty simple: The ability to do what you want, when you want to.

For Everett Bogue, of Far Beyond the Stars, that means sitting in the park for the afternoon, practicing yoga every day, and sometimes writing a blog post over the course of a week, if he feels like it. Continue Reading →

UPDATED: Oil Spill Action Resource Page (Uniting in Response)

oil spillUPDATE: Click the image to join in signing the declaration–>

– I added several key articles and resource links to this post today, plus more responses and ideas from friends via the newsletter. Please feel free to add any additional links and relevant resources in the comments as well — much love, Satya

I was battling my emotions a while over this whole gulf oil spill disaster. Then I decided to take action, and make a short video in reaction. It was simple to know what to do with it (and to just get it done last Saturday afternoon) though it was a bit painful to go through the process.

The hardest part of bearing witness to this kind of disaster, is the feeling of helplessness, and not knowing what to do. Therefore, this page (post) is meant as a resource for those wishing to take action.

It’s starting small, with just some of what I have access to now, and will build gradually. I will add to it as more viable approaches come to my knowledge and awareness. (Done my best on this so far, counting on you to tell me what i’m missing) Will also add some more of my suggestions, and more of my favorite comment responses in a special action resource section in this post. SEE Resource section added below. I believe in the philosophy of just starting where you are, with what you have, and building from there, brick by brick…

Here is where I started, creating this video:

The reaction and comments from friends after posting on Facebook was strengthening and reassuring, and the piece was shared widely. Mostly, I felt a little better doing something, and having some kind of impact, facing up to the ugly truth for what it was. Continue Reading →

Fierce Wisdom: A Community of World Changers, Emerging Leaders and Freedom Fighters…

There are few things more fun or “social” than interacting, shaping, and evolving with a community of like-minded souls working towards common goals; in this case, the upliftment, self-realization, and personal empowerment of the people of the world….

The great force and benefit of the community is in its sheer mechanics: the contribution of so many voices, so many diverse opinions, and the great range of experience intrinsic in a setting that is available to all people the world over. Therefore, I invite you to:

Introduce yourself, and share a link (if you like…)

Here we break the unwritten rule against self-promotional links in the body of blog comments! I’ve always enjoyed stretching the rules to their breaking point, so in this case, I am going to ENCOURAGE you to go all out with a link to your website, a blog post, or a link to the work of someone you respect and admire; someone who is working to change the world, make a difference, transform themselves, or break the paradigms of selfish greed, complicity and conformity which have become all but commonplace in our contemporary lives.

This is a brand-spankin’ new site so not expecting a firestorm to start out with, but this post will be at the top of the community section for a while, and I expect the community to grow rather quickly so there’s a good chance of getting great exposure and meeting some like-minded folks you can possibly even start building alliances with….

More on the Intention Thing

The whole being greater than the sum of its parts, the potential magic to arise from this community is awe-inspiring to consider. I’m looking forward to it…

To those ends, you will find in these pages some of the greatest inspirational, intelligent and practical wisdom from the great, established and emerging leaders of our times, as well as world changers, fighters of the status quo, the rebel spirits and “transformationalists” (I think i just made that word up). It is my intention in this gathering place of great wisdom to help forge a stronger connection between us all, so that the whole may benefit even more, and the individual and collective transformation we seek will have potential to wield a far greater force than it would otherwise.

A Community of World-Changers, Freedom Fighters, and Emerging Leaders

If that sounds right to you, this is your place. Linchpins? You know who you are. According to the good ole’ Wikipedia:

The word “community” is derived from the Old French communité which is derived from the Latin communitas (cum, “with/together” + munus, “gift”)….

In other words, “the gift of togetherness” — isn’t that grand? This is a place to share that grand, gorgeous gift. – Welcome.

Here are the rules:

1. This is a place for exploring self-realization, leadership, changing the world and general all-around online ass-kicking. Expect to be pushed beyond your comfort zone, and possibly forced to question everything (we generally consider those to be good things.)

2. You are encouraged to adopt a “beginners mind.” That is, let go of the belief that you’ve: a) been there, done that, already get whatever “it” is; b) NOT able to do that because of X experience(s) from your past. For those on the quest for enlightenment and/or world domination, this is sort of a pre-requisite.

3. There are no rules (other than a general ixnay on any sort of bashing or other “uncivil” behavior, which will not be tolerated – sorry weird spammers and other hopeless dregs of society, you are not welcome here – everyone else, carpe diem).

The best way to get into the ‘inner circle’ and stay in the loop here, is to join the Fierce Wisdom newsletter below, where I will be informing you of the juicy insider stuff every couple weeks. For those anemic to email subscriptions, there’s always the RSS feed, and for those die-hard “transformationalists” who want to get updates to their email every day that we post here, there’s the subscribe to blog updates via Feedburner option.

The 9 Core Principles of Fierce Wisdom

1. Know Thyself.

Clarity is the number one principle of fierce wisdom. Without clarity, you have nothing. With clarity, you have the ability to decide exactly what is needed to solve just about any problem. With sustained clarity, you can determine the right course of action for nearly any situation. True clarity means the ability to see yourself, and to know who you are, and how to place yourself in the context of your life and world. With a truly clear mind, heart and energy field, the mystery of the phrase “know thyself” is revealed.

2. Time does not exist.

Nobody has enough time anymore. Which is funny, when you consider that time is just a  really practical and useful construct we’ve all agreed to follow. Become a master of time, and you will set the platform to have whatever you want, and eventually master all of existence. The past, present and future all happening simultaneously, at this very instant. Every moment is actually a step into the “future”; that’s why the present holds the key to having everything you want.

3. Enlightenment does not exist.

You are already whatever enlightenment is. Become a master of your Self. That is all that is needed. Why waste a precious lifetime in search of something which is already within you. Just release the veil of ignorance keeping you from witnessing al that you are. It can happen in an instant. Poof, you’re enlightened. The veil drops. Really, it happens all the time! The next moment, maybe you’re back in your head, but just as easily, you can be enlightened again. It’s real.

4. Your mind does not (actually) exist.

I’m sorry to inform you, your “mind” does not actually exist. Can you show me where it exists? Isn’t it really just a collection of thoughts, beliefs, experiences, imprints, learned knowledge and social programs? Become a master of your mind, and you will master everything. The mind is the great gateway to true knowledge.

5. Everything you believe is true.

Your beliefs form the foundation of your existence in this life. However true or false they may be, they will and do dictate the events and progressions of your life. What you believe will come true. Therefore, pay close attention to your beliefs always, and don’t settle for whatever thoughts and beliefs you’ve been indoctrinated with over a lifetime of social programming, bad experiences and appropriated thought forms.

6. The world was not made for you; you are It.

Contrary to the belief of our forefathers as expounded in the Judeo-Christian tradition – i.e. God created the earth and animals and then women for the men to be the masters of it – the earth was not made for us. Everything in our world changes in an instant, depending on our outlook. If the world changes in accordance to how we see it, than we can hardly be considered to be separate from it. In fact then, we must be it.

7. You may not perfect, but your body is.

Our bodies are the greatest blessing; the greatest supreme vehicle to enable and carry our precious lives and spirits, and our (supposed) minds. If we cannot see, hear, taste, smell, feel, sense, think, what are we? Nothing more than a rock, really, or worse…perhaps a rock can feel after all. Our body knows exactly what we need, and if we pay attention it will let us know. All things are possible with this magnificent mind-body vehicle. It deserves some serious attention and full respect!

8. You can’t always get what you want, but you can have what you want (and in an instant).

First you must decide what it is you really want. Truly, deeply, from your heart of hearts. Sit with that for a while. If you find it’s something that truly resonates with you, your perceived purpose or destiny, and what you see for your future, then you must go with that impulse and follow it through. You can collapse time and have it all in an instant – or maybe a few weeks, if necessary – if you’re willing to let go of the small view, and go big. Go all the way. Open your heart to the miracle of existence.

9. Trust in your Higher Self.

In truth, you know the answers to all problems. Don’t fear the unknown. The stronger your connection to your true self — your inner guru, or higher self — the more powerful and effective your actions in the world. Revel in and enjoy the fierce grace of who you are at source. It’s so beautiful.

Life is sweet, when your heart is open to the endless bounty of existence…

Much Love,

– Satya
